STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the latest title to enter the world of non-replaceable tokens (NFT).
GSC Game World, the developer of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, unveiled STALKER Metaverse today. The app uses blockchain technology and allows players to be part of the game world. This includes the opportunity to become the first “metahuman” that the game development team seems to define as a non-player character, presented in great detail. A spokesman has confirmed that this Metahuman will not be made with Epic Games’s MetaHuman Creator tool.
In STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl to become a Metahuman, players can bid for an NFT as part of an auction held in January 2022. Anyone who owns NFT to become an in-game NPC can buy and sell it up to a certain post-auction date.
Evgeniy Grygorovych, CEO of Game World Spy, recently commented on the process of becoming an in-game NPC.
The NFT idea is to offer the right to recreate the identity of the owner in the game through one of the NPCs. The person has to come to our studio for an accurate scan and after that, we will have everything to make this person appear as one of the characters in the game world.
GeoGame Game World also plans to release other NFTs in addition to Metahuman; However, the company has refused to specify these NFTs. According to a press release, NFTs do not affect the gameplay and do not create in-game advantages over other players.
Ubisoft officially entered the NFT world some time ago with the introduction of the Ubisoft Quartz platform. Fable series creator Peter Molyneux also recently announced that his new game will be based on blockchain.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be released on Xbox X / S and PC on April 28, and will also be available on Game Pass service from day one.
