The Last of Us 2 director Neil Druckmann has revealed that the game’s author, Halley Gross, played a character who was later removed.
In a series of interesting tweets between Neil Drakeman and Holly Gross, Drakeman, after a bit of arguing with the author, revealed that Gross had originally played a character in The Last of Us 2, but that character was in the final version of the game. Was not present.
In his tweet, Drakeman shared a photo of Gross in a mocap dress and all the points that had been drawn on his face to record facial movements, and wrote below:
Now I want to bring your character back into the game… just so we can remove him from the game again!
Gross then responded to Drakeman with a short video of himself at Mokap Studios and wrote:
Last of Us Part III: Leah’s Revenge
Based on Gross’ answer, it can now be assumed that the character he is talking about is probably Leah, whom Ellie and Dina find a picture of at a Washington Liberation Front base.
To survive the WLF ambush, Ellie and Dina kill two enemies, one of whom has a picture of Leah and a letter from him in his pocket.
When Ellie and Dina arrive at a safe place, they look more at the letter and find that Leah is on a TV station, so they decide to go and find her there. Unfortunately, when this pair enters the station, they see that Leah has been killed, which of course makes sense; Because we now know that this character has been removed almost completely from the final version of The Last of Us 2.
Title The Last of Us Part II Currently available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
